University Action Plan

The document reflects the vision, mission and values ​​of the university, development and international integration goals, as well as action steps.

Vision and Mission:

The university aims to become a leading, prestigious and international standard-compliant institution of sports education. Its mission is to train highly qualified specialists in the fields of sports, physical education, rehabilitation, management and psychology, promote a healthy lifestyle and strengthen social responsibility.

Core values:

Autonomy, commitment to national values ​​and Olympic principles, academic freedom, continuous development, transparency, justice and social responsibility.

Brief history:

Founded in 1935, it has graduated more than 23,000 specialists to date, including Olympic champions. Since 2013, it has been operating under its modern name.

Enrollment:

Number of students – 1145. Bachelor’s and Master’s programs at two faculties, teacher training and 60-credit courses. The majority of graduates are employed by profession.

SWOT analysis:

Strengths: Unique profile in Georgia, high employment rates, international partnerships, flexible tuition fees.

Weaknesses: Lack of student dormitories, infrastructure limitations, low level of foreign language, limited grants.

Opportunities: Expansion of international programs, cooperation with business, English-language courses.

Threats: Deterioration of socio-economic situation, frequent changes in legislation, reduction of funding.

Strategic objectives:

Strengthening institutional governance, development and internationalization of educational programs, strengthening scientific and research activities, development of student life, professional growth of staff, improvement of infrastructure and financial resources.

Finances:

Tuition fees are fixed (2250 GEL), the main income is student contributions. The share of students with state grants is low, which creates financial challenges.

Action plan:

3- and 7-year plans have been established, with specific deadlines, performance indicators and risk assessments, so that the university can develop both in terms of education, infrastructure and international cooperation.
