Davit Karangozashvili graduated from the Georgian State Institute of Physical Culture in 1976 with honors (Red Diploma).
In 1990, he defended his Candidate of Sciences dissertation. In 1992, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor.
In 1976, Davit Karangozashvili began working at the Georgian State Institute of Physical Culture as a laboratory assistant.
From 1980, he worked at the Department of Swimming as a senior lecturer, delivering lectures in the specialization of water polo and swimming.
Since 2014 – Professor at the Georgian State Teaching University of Physical Education and Sport.
Davit Karangozashvili has published over 70 scientific papers and authored three books.
He has trained around 200 highly qualified specialists in water polo and swimming, who now work successfully as coaches in various countries worldwide.
In the 1970s, he was a member of Tbilisi Dinamo; from 1980 to 1990 – one of the coaches of Tbilisi Dinamo’s water polo team.
He has trained two Honored Masters of Sport, four International Class Masters of Sport, and more than 30 Masters of Sport.
Since 1991 – coach of various club teams. His trainees have competed in the final stages of World and European Championships and are champions and prize winners of international tournaments.
