In 1980–1981, Davit Khachidze graduated from Technical College №108 with a specialization in construction.
From 1981 to 1986, he studied at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Physics, majoring in Biophysics.
In 1995, he defended his dissertation in the field of Physics and Mathematics and was awarded the academic degree of Doctor.
His dissertation topic was: “Structural Properties of Chromatin and DNA in vivo and in vitro under the Influence of Benzo(a)pyrene, Mitoxantrone and Laser Radiation.”
From 1982 to 1985, he worked as a mechanic at the 2nd Fire Department of the 1st May District of the Ministry of the USSR.
From 1985 to 1990, he worked as a junior research associate at the Department of Medical Biophysics at the Clinical and Experimental Cardiology Institute named after M. Tsintsadze.
From 1985 to 1992, he worked as a sound engineer at the Palace of Culture of Trade Unions.
From 1987 to 2000, he was a judo and sambo coach at the “Dinamo” sports club.
From 1990 to 1992, he studied at the Laboratory of Thermodynamics of Biopolymers at the Evgeni Andronikashvili Institute of Physics as a postgraduate student.
From 1992 to 1996, he worked as a research associate at the Laboratory of Thermodynamics of Biopolymers at the same institute.
From 1994 to 1999, he was the head of the Experimental Laboratory for Tumor Process Diagnostics at the Medical-Diagnostic Center of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
From 1996 to the present, he has worked as a senior research associate at the Laboratory of Physics of Biological Systems at the Evgeni Andronikashvili Institute of Physics.
In 2003, he supervised the master’s theses of Giorgi Ivanishvili and Mikheil Blavatski within the “Cybernetics” program at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
From 2008 to 2009, he was the director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biological Physics.
From 2008 to 2011, he was the director of the “Visoli” Sports Complex and of the “Avaza” Fencing School.
In 2009, he supervised the master’s thesis of Nato Janashvili in the “Computer Science” program at TSU.
In 2012, he supervised a bachelor’s project on the topic “Information System Palavani” in the field of computer sciences.
From 2012 to 2021, he lectured at the TSU Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences on the course: “Basics of Biomedical Instruments.”
From 2012 to 2018, he taught at the University of Georgia (named after David the Builder) on the course “Computer Skills.”
From 2013 to 2018, he was head of the Information Technologies program, professor, and deputy head of the Quality Assurance Service at the same university.
From 2013 to 2024, he taught Computer Skills and Literacy at the Public College of Physical Education and Sports of Georgia.
From 2013 to 2025, he has been working as an associate professor of “Medical Biophysics” at the State University of Sport of Georgia.
From 2013 to 2025, he is also an associate professor of Information Technologies at the same university.
In 2004, he participated in an ecological issues training organized by the Soros Foundation in Lviv.
In 2006, he completed a practical business training in science and technology management organized by GRDF and the Caucasian School of Business.
He actively participated in scientific projects and grants:
From 1997 to 1999, he was a member of grant 2.23 of the Georgian Academy of Sciences.
From 2000 to 2001 – grant 2.27.
From 2002 to 2003 – grant 2.26.02.
From 2004 to 2005, he was a member of the German-Caucasian international project TANDEM (Tbilisi Accelerator based Nuclear Dating and Environmental Monitoring).
From 2008 to 2011, he was the project manager of the British-Russian collaboration CNCP project (“Atomic Cities”).
From 2009 to 2010, he led the Georgian National Science Foundation grant GNSF/ST08/2-370.
From 2012 to 2013, he was the group leader of the international project “Development of Industrial Prototype Spectropolarimeter for Medical Use Based on Liquid Crystal Polarization Diffraction Grating.”
In 2008, he became a member of the Dissertation Board in Biophysics at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences of TSU.
In 2012, he was a member of the Scientific and Technical Resource Research Commission of TSU.
He is a member of the Council of the Georgian Academy of Natural Sciences.
From 2011 to 2024, he served as the Vice President of the Georgian National Sambo Federation.
From 2011 to 2017, he was the senior coach of cadets at the same federation.
In the field of sports, he is a USSR Master of Sport in Judo and Sambo.
He is a Georgian champion and prize-winner in Judo, Sambo, and traditional Georgian wrestling.
He is also a USSR tournament and “Dinamo” champion in Sambo.
He was awarded the title of Honored Coach of Georgia in Sambo.
