Maia Kerkenjia

Maia Kerkenjia graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Tbilisi State Medical University in 1985, specializing in toxicology (forensic medicine).
In 2006, she was awarded a Doctorate in Medical Sciences.

From 1985 to 1986, she worked as a resident doctor at the Toxicology Center of Tbilisi’s 5th Clinical Hospital (Mikhailov Hospital).
Between 1988 and 1990, she was a physician in the Toxicology Department at the Sklifosovsky Emergency Institute in Moscow.
From 1991 to 2000, she served as a forensic physician in the Evidence Department of the Forensic Expertise Bureau.
Between 2000 and 2003, she was a lecturer at the “Tanadgoma” Medical College.
From 2003 to 2017, she worked as a professor at an international teaching university.
Since 2014, she has been serving as an Associate Professor at the Georgian State University of Physical Education and Sport.

She is an honorary member of the Kaldi Academy and the J. Lezhava Academy.
