Tamaz Jashi

Education

In 1966, he enrolled in the Coaching School affiliated with the Georgian State Institute of Physical Culture.
In 1968, he continued his studies at the same institute.

Work Experience

In 1971, he played for the Gardabani football team “Varketili,” after which he was invited to join Tbilisi “Dinamo.”
From 1972, he played for the Lanchkhuti team “Guria” and simultaneously worked as a coach at the Lanchkhuti Sports School.
In 1973, he was drafted into compulsory military service in Akhaltsikhe, where he played for the local team “Meskheti.”
Starting in 1975, he was a player for Aspindza’s “Vardzia,” and in 1976, he was appointed head coach of Akhaltsikhe’s “Meskheti.”
In 1978, he began working as a coach at the children’s football school of the Voluntary Sports Society “Lokomotivi.”
From 1980 to 1985, during the summers, he served as the director of the sports and wellness camp of the Education and Science Trade Union.
In 1987, he became the head coach of the children’s football school “Lokomotivi,” and from 1989, he served as the director of the same school.
In 1990, he was appointed head coach of the team “Merani,” formed on the basis of Tbilisi “Lokomotivi.”
From 1995, he began teaching at the Department of Football at the Sports Academy. From 1996, he was a department lecturer, and from 2003 — senior lecturer.
He has performed duties as deputy head of department, deputy dean of the Faculty of Coaching, and has been responsible for academic, organizational-financial, and quality assurance activities.
In 2005, he was elected Associate Professor based on the academic competition for faculty members.
From August 2007 to November 2010, he worked as an associate professor at Ilia State University.
On May 8, 2014, he was re-elected as associate professor through an academic competition at the Georgian State University of Sport, a position he still holds today.

Additional Information

Tamaz Jashi has published numerous scientific and sports-related articles in international peer-reviewed journals and newspapers.
He is the author of two methodological manuals.
Together with Tengiz Ratiani, he co-authored a football teaching guide for basic and intermediate levels (grades VII–XII).
He was a delegate at the founding congress of the National Football Federation of Georgia.
He is a member of the sports-technical commission of the Tbilisi Football Federation, a consultant to the Georgian national futsal team, and a coach-consultant at the football school “Norchi Dinamoi.”
